A life among the boxes

I am loving, loving, LOVING my new house.  Unpacking is a slow process, much less stressful than the packing portion of the move.  I'm taking my time unpacking because I don't simply want to shove something out of sight, I want to put things where they belong, where I have a chance of finding them when I need them, when I want to look at them, or want to read them.  The other day, I think I unpacked 15 boxes and while I could see the results because there were no more boxes in my living or dining rooms, when I went upstairs and looked in the guestrooms, it looked as if the boxes had been breeding and multiplying like bunnies.

Where did all this stuff come from?

When I moved here, I had over 360 boxes...FOR ONE PERSON and a dog! I swore never again. Now that I own two businesses... I fear it would be well over 1000. I just don't have it in me to deal! Good luck!!

When my daughter and I moved into our two (attached) houses at the same time, the difference in our unpacking methods was striking. She could have had important company over in three days, as long as they didn't open a closet or a drawer. It took me weeks to get rid of all the boxes, but every drawer, cabinet, and bookshelf was exactly like I wanted it. Sometimes I wish I had more of the "git 'er done" genes, but I'd do it just the way you are.
