She's good medicine, that girl

She called this morning just as I was leaving for the park. She was downtown with a flat tire and unsure what to do since she left her AAA card at home - a very teenager thing to do, to be sure. I gave her the information from my card and told her I'd meet her and wait with her for the tow-driver to get there. (What? You thought I'd change it myself?) And in no time at all, I found myself spending this Wednesday morning hanging out with my niece and my dog beneath the shade of the trees on Austin Street, watching the cars go by and talking about architecture and boys. Very unexpected. Very nice.
